Forged in Frost

a charity hijack zine

Forged in Frost will be a sfw charity fan zine dedicated to the romantic ship between Dreamworks' Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (How to Train Your Dragon) and Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians). This zine's purpose is to spotlight an amazing selection of creators from the hijack community and create a collaborative work that we can share with the fandom. <3The zine will feature a collection of digitally illustrated fanart and original fanfiction. As well as a bundle of additional merchandise. [TBD post interest check]All profits generated from this project will be donated to charities that provide care, support, and legal defense for transgender/gender-nonconforming children and teens. [Charities to be finalized post interest check]

What is a zine?A fanzine (fan x magazine) is an unofficial fan-created mini magazine booklet that contains artwork and fanfiction dedicated to a specific piece of media and/or characters. Will this zine be digital or physical? We aim to produce a physical zine but this will be finalized post interest check. Will there be nsfw content in this zine? No. This zine is exclusively sfw as it is also a fundraiser for youth-focused charities. Visual content will be limited to PG-13 and written works will be limited to Teen and Up audiences. Will additional characters be a part of this zine?Likely, yes! Fanwork for this zine will focus on Hiccup/Jack but we welcome the Guardians (+ Jamie) and the Dragon Riders as background/side characters in art and fic.Which charities will this zine's profits be donated to and why?Due to the ongoing systematic erasure and targeting of the genderqueer community and trans youth, we have chosen to center trans rights advocacy for this project. We will make final charity selections post interest check but the mod team currently has the Trans Youth Emergency Project and the Trans Youth Equality Foundation in mind.
